An Open Letter From Bryan

To my family, friends and supporters,

I would first like to thank all who shared with me so many kind words and notes of encouragement. The level of support I have received in this effort has been wonderful. I find myself both strengthened and humbled. The support has provided strength to both my family and me to take on such an effort, but at the same time it is incredibly humbling to know that so many are willing to put their faith and resources behind this effort.

When I made the decision to run for City Council, it was a very different race than the one it has become. Running in an open seat primary essentially places all candidates on a fairly level playing field. All candidates are given the same timeline in which they must make their case as to why they are best suited to serve. In the time leading up to the primary, candidates must organize, raise funds, and most importantly, meet and visit with the voters in their district.

A race run against an incumbent presents a very different dynamic and creates a different set of challenges, especially when it involves a very short time period before the primary. While I firmly believe that our message of public safety, quality of life and fiscal responsibility is the right message, I do not have the confidence that I will have the opportunity to effectively share that message, and my passion for it, in the time prior to the primary.

After much thought and prayer, I feel the most appropriate path at this time is not to seek the District 8 City Council seat but to continue to work within the community and the Republican Party to bring about positive change and a better way of life in Tulsa.

Again, my family and I wish to extend our deepest appreciation to all who have lent their support and look forward to continuing to serve the wonderful citizens of Tulsa. I plan make myself available, in any way I can, to create a better city for ourselves today and for our children tomorrow.

Sincerely yours,

Bryan
